Emre Kizilkaya is an Istanbul-based editor and media researcher. Between 2003 and 2019, Kizilkaya held various positions at Hürriyet, Turkey's leading newspaper at the time, including Head of Digital Content. In 2019, Kizilkaya was selected for the Knight Visiting Nieman Fellowship, where he studied media sustainability. Presently, Kizilkaya manages Journo, a non-profit news platform supported by Turkey's Journalists' Union (TGS) and the EU, while pursuing a Ph.D. in Media and Communication Studies at Galatasaray University. Kizilkaya also serves as a vice-chair of the Vienna-based International Press Institute (IPI). Throughout his career, Kizilkaya has contributed to numerous international publications and has been honored with multiple awards from journalism organizations.
