I use both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the relationships between parents' beliefs about language learning and child development, parents' language-related practices with their children, and children's language outcomes in early childhood. I have led mixed-methods studies in the USA and France to explore these questions. Having worked with international organizations such as UNHCR and the World Bank in the past, and as a Lebanese woman myself, I am also interested in the early childhood ecosystem in developing countries, with a focus on the role caregivers play in the cognitive and language development of their children.
