Mark MacCarthy is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Technology Law and Policy at Georgetown Law, a Senior Policy Fellow at the Center for Business and Public Policy at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, and a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Center for Technology Innovation at the Brookings Institution. He is an adjunct faculty member in the Communication, Culture & Technology Program in the Graduate School at Georgetown University. He is the author of Regulating Digital Industries (Brookings, 2023).
Chris Lewis is President and CEO at Public Knowledge. Prior to being elevated to President and CEO, Chris served as Public Knowledge’s Vice President from 2012 to 2019 where he led the organization’s day-to-day advocacy and political strategy on Capitol Hill and at government agencies. Chris serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Local Self Reliance and represents Public Knowledge on the Board of the Broadband Internet Technical Advisory Group (BITAG).
Alejandra Y. Castillo is a Fall 2024 IOP Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. As U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development (2021-2024), appointed by President Biden, she was the first woman of color in this role, overseeing $6.8 billion in funding for inclusive growth. With 20+ years in public service, including roles under Presidents Biden, Obama, and Clinton, Castillo champions diversity and equity. She holds degrees from Stony Brook, UT Austin, and American University.
Justin Hendrix is CEO and Editor of Tech Policy Press, a new nonprofit media venture concerned with the intersection of technology and democracy. Previously, he was Executive Director of NYC Media Lab. He spent over a decade at The Economist in roles including Vice President, Business Development & Innovation. He is an associate research scientist and adjunct professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
