Robert (Rob) A. DeLeo is an Associate Professor of Public Policy at Bentley University. His research focuses on preparedness policymaking. His most recent book, Anticipatory Policymaking: When Government Acts to Prevent Problems and Why It Is So Difficult, examines the dynamics of policy change in anticipation of emergent hazards, like novel diseases and other types of slow onset events. His work has also appeared in Policy Studies Journal, Policy & Politics, Critical Policy Studies, Polity as well as various other peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes. Rob is a founding member of the Risk & Society Working Group, an interdisciplinary group of scholars examining the relationship between risk messaging and individual behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic.
