Summary

In a National Bureau of Economics working paper, WAPPP faculty affiliate Katherine Coffman, with co-authors Lucas Coffman and Keith Marzilli Ericson, identified a gap in economics research: the economic beliefs and preferences of non-binary individuals. They found that non-binary individuals reported more gender-based discrimination and expressed different career and life aspirations compared to men and women. They also found that anti-non-binary sentiment is stronger than anti-LGBT sentiment, and strongest amongst men.
