Drew Borinstein is a native of Fairland, Indiana and distinguished graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he earned a BS in Applied Mathematics and commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps in 2017. Following 10 months of additional training, Drew served in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; Morón, Spain; and Fort Meade, Maryland before completing his active service. He continues to serve in the US Marine Corps Reserve today. In 2021, Drew earned a MS in Analytics from Georgia Tech, which inspired an interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and technology more broadly. He sees the responsible development and use of technology a driving force to promote human flourishing by equipping people to achieve things that they could not otherwise do. He hopes to use emerging technology to make a meaningful difference in the world. Moreover, Drew is deeply passionate about youth mentorship. As someone who benefitted tremendously from the advice of mentors after college, he realized how much more prepared he could have been with a dedicated mentor earlier in life. As a future business leader, Drew hopes to expand access to high-quality mentorship to under-resourced students throughout the nation by leveraging a community of veteran-professionals who are committed to continued service and development of the next generation. He aims to connect these communities by building a nonprofit that spans the United States.
