Emily Gonçalves’s experiences in advocacy, STEM, policy, and photography demonstrate how she strives to understand perspectives and to empower people in all that she does. She is pursuing the MPP program at Harvard Kennedy School in hopes of impacting our economy and societal inequities through policy. She is from Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Nashville, TN for several years. Emily graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2020 with degrees in both Mathematics and Economics as well as a minor in Latin American Studies. She is a strong communicator in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, a photojournalist and an author, and an advocate for immigrant communities and women, particularly through education. She has background in the worlds of finance and technology as a Business Analyst, having gained much experience in data visualization, artificial intelligence, innovation, UX/UI design, and crisis management coordination. Emily's work at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø includes research and advocacy for reparations for Black Americans, research for the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Collaboratory, and leadership and communications for the Women's Caucus.
