Kelly is one of the most respected Public Relations executives in the beauty industry today. Throughout her years at L’Oréal, she has been integral to its PR successes and widely recognized for her contributions and partnerships with the numerous fashion houses.
She was educated at Sacred Heart Academy in New York and graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY, earning her BA in Political Science and Art History. After a press internship with Senator Alfonse D’Amato in Washington D.C., Kelly headed to Wall St., working first at Shearson Lehman and then at Alex Brown. Kelly transitioned from the world of finance to marketing when Calvin Klein Cosmetics offered new opportunities. She subsequently joined L’Oréal USA in 1997 where she has guided the Luxury Division for over twenty years.
Kelly was recently promoted to Senior Vice President, Public Relations and Communications for the Luxury Division. Kelly is responsible for all Luxe Transversal PR initiatives and partnerships for all Luxe brands including Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, Kiehl’s Since 1851, Yves Saint Laurent, Viktor & Rolf, Ralph Lauren Fragrances, Clarisonic, Urban Decay and Proenza Schouler. She has been a critical partner in organizing press for L'Oréal Luxe, as well as key initiatives like the Dreamball for the American Cancer Society, the UNICEF Snowflake Ball and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kelly is currently a member of both the Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Association and the Fragrance Foundation. Additionally, Kelly has sat on the board of The Metropolitan Opera Junior Guild and The Boys and Girls Club of New York. She currently sits on the Board of Trustees for The Eagle Hill School in Greenwich, CT and continues to sit on the board of The Association to Benefit Children in New York City. Kelly is responsible for securing L'Oréal’s entree on to the Harvard Women's Leadership Board for Gender Equality and spearheading the organization of the annual class for L'Oréal employees at Harvard.
Outside of her professional career, she is the mother of two young boys, Harrison and Crosby, and the wife of Stephen Thompson, Vice-Consul, at the British Consulate in New York. She resides with her family in Riverside, CT.
