Nancy J. Russell is chair and CEO of Krytar, a manufacturer of ultra broadband microwave components and test equipment used in commercial and military operations. Russell spent 25 years at Western Pacific and Southern Pacific Railroads as director of risk management. In 1994, Russell left Southern Pacific and took over leadership of Krytar, a family business founded in 1975. Since she assumed control of the company, sales have increased over 100 percent and the company has moved into a larger, more modern facility in Silicon Valley to accommodate increasing demand for its products, which are used throughout the world. Russell has contributed countless hours of volunteer service to the San Francisco community and to nonprofit boards, including the San Francisco Food Bank, California Pacific Medical Center’s Pacific Vision Foundation, The San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park, Kara Grief Support Foundation, Family House at University of California Medical Center, as well as helping to feed the city’s homeless population. Russell is active in the Women Presidents’ Organization. She is a graduate of Gwynedd Mercy University, Gwynedd Valley, PA.
