Nate Powell is a first-year Master in Public Policy student at the Harvard Kennedy School, where he intends to specialize in international and global affairs. As a U.S. Army Officer, Nate served five years on active duty leading cross-functional teams and working with allies and partners across Europe. Nate is now an Army Reservist and further contributes to the military community as an engagement team member for From the Green Notebook, a web-based leadership publication. Nate earned a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where he concentrated on international security and minored in the Russian language. Nate’s professional and academic interests include U.S. grand strategy, diplomacy, and environmental policy. He intends to continue his career in public and international service following his education at the Kennedy School. Nate is a native of South Florida, where he developed a lifelong love for venturing outdoors in the woods and on the water.
