Born in Spain during Franco’s dictatorship, Paz became a feminist activist and avid reader to understand and combat women discrimination. Her initial university studies in Valencia, Spain, focused on sociology and philosophy. During her Ph.D she contacted John Rawls at the Department of Philosophy at Harvard and was invited to join the Department as a Visiting Fellow. During her time at Harvard, Sheila Benhabib and Celia Amorós became her mentors and recommended that she continue her work at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. Following their advice Paz received a fellowship and obtained an MPA in 1997. After graduation she became a gender in development consultant for the Inter American Development Bank and later for the OAS and UNIFEM. In 2013 she moved to Singapore where consulted for foundations to advance women’s rights globally. In Singapore she also founded and lead an all women competitive latin dragon boat club that has been widely successful. She is currently living in Cambridge and conducting research on unpaid domestic work and a proposal to eliminate it. In her free time Paz loves to practice piano and sports, especially rowing at the Charles.
