Stacey Keare, MPP 1994, is founder of the Girls Rights Project, dedicated to advancing the rights of girls throughout the world through a combination of research, advocacy, and philanthropy. Keare studied international relations at Stanford University, and has a law degree from Hastings College of the Law. For the last 10 years she has been president of her family foundation, dedicated to advancing health, education, and human rights primarily in developing nations. Through her philanthropy she has focused on anti-trafficking efforts, reproductive health care, and education of girls. She has been a board member of several nonprofit organizations, including Summit Public Schools, an organization creating progressive college prep charter schools in the Bay Area, and the San Mateo County Legal Aid Society. She is on the Silicon Valley Leadership Board of the Global Fund for Children, a DC-based foundation supporting grassroots organizations helping children throughout the world. Keare, mother of three girls, is dedicated to ensuring that all girls have the same rights and freedom that her daughters enjoy.
