Susan is a passionate philanthropist whose focus is the advancement and empowerment of women and girls. Her emphasis on gender lens philanthropy began as a Trustee of the Women’s Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King. Susan is now in her in her 10th year on the board of WSF and has been instrumental in the development and success of WSF’s award winning GoGirlGo curriculum, which focuses on providing underserved girls with access to sports. In 2008 Susan became a Founding Member and Director of Women Moving Millions, whose mission is to catalyze unprecedented resources for the advancement of women and girls worldwide. Susan’s professional career was spent in advertising account management. She was with the Gayton and Brockie Haslam agencies in Leicester, England, before joining D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in London, and DDB Needham in Chicago. Her clients included Colgate, General Foods and several leading UK companies in the food, beverage and toy industries, among others. Susan’s other community, civic, organization and education involvements include; former board member of the Chicago Foundation for Women; Trustee of Shedd Aquarium, Chicago; Member of the Women’s Board, Lyric Opera of Chicago; Life Trustee of Lake Forest Academy, Lake Forest IL; Trustee of St. Edward's School, Vero Beach FL; Steering Committee for the Women in Development program of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs; Society of Fellows, Aspen Institute; and Executive Producer and investor in documentary films produced by, directed by, or centered around women and women’s issues.
