What does your role as Admissions & Financial Aid Coordinator entail?
I am primarily focused on recruitment and yield activities, coordinating a many of our virtual and in-person events. This includes our upcoming Open House for prospective students, as well as New Admit Day for admitted students in the spring. In addition to planning events and programming, I provide guidance and assistance to prospective students as they navigate the admissions and financial aid application processes.
Tell us a little bit more about your background.
I am originally from New Jersey and moved to the Boston area after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2020, with the hopes of working in higher education. During my time at the University of New Hampshire, I worked with all of the student organizations on campus to help coordinate programming, and I also worked with UNH's International Student Office to help international students make the transition to studying in the U.S.
Why are you passionate about your career in higher education?
It has always been a goal of mine to help make education more accessible for everyone. I love being able to help prospective students as they navigate our admissions and financial aid applications, and I always strive to be as much of a resource to them as possible.
What is your favorite thing about the Kennedy School?
Definitely the people! I have never worked in an environment with so many kind, caring individuals.
In addition to that, it is amazing to see all of the positive work that is being done by the students, fellows, and faculty at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø. It makes me feel good to see firsthand all of the positive change that they are making in the world.
What is one piece of advice you have for prospective students?
Make sure you read the application instructions clearly, but don’t be afraid to ask for help throughout the application process if you are confused.
What is one thing in the Boston/Cambridge area students should do during their time at ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø?
Go to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. It is a ton of fun, and you can usually find cheap tickets during the week.
