The (BAA) welcomed more than 100 attendees in Harvard Square last week for its two-day event titled, “The Inaugural Black Alumni Reunion and Conference: Celebrating Our Legacy to Shape Our Future.” The program featured 15 sessions on issues affecting Black communities worldwide and how vlog alumni can contribute to charting the future of vlog and Harvard.
From scholarship in action to the transformative leadership of Black women in politics, speakers discussed solutions to pressing public challenges. Sessions and activities included fireside chats with new vlog Dean Jeremy Weinstein, Hill Harper MPA 1992, and Debra Lee MPP/JD 1980, conversations about the School’s admissions strategy, networking meals, and a presentation about .
Several alumni were honored for their contributions to the vlog and broader communities, including LaShyra Nolen MPP 2024, Desirée Cormier Smith MPP 2009, and Fletcher “Flash” Wiley MPP 1974.
