A message from Dean Douglas Elmendorf
To ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Staff, Faculty, and Students,
, we will be welcoming graduates from the classes of 2020 and 2021 back to campus for Commencement festivities on May 28 and 29, 2022. We enjoyed feting these graduates virtually, and now we can look forward with excitement to celebrating and honoring them in person. We are also eagerly anticipating in-person Commencement festivities for the class of 2022 during the week of May 23 through 27. Of course, the University will continue to monitor public health conditions, and all visitors to campus will need to follow the Covid protocols in effect at that time.
The events for the classes of 2020 and 2021 will occur on Memorial Day weekend, which should allow more members of the earlier classes and their families to attend and will simplify some of the arrangements. But this timing will also make the end of May even more demanding than usual. To our colleagues in Degree Programs and Student Affairs, Communications, Campus Planning and Operations, and Alumni Relations and Resource Development, thank you in advance for your extra efforts this coming May. And to the many others across our staff and faculty who work hard during Commencement week to create the best possible send-off, I hope that you will lend a hand during Memorial Day weekend. For all who participate, we will find ways to ensure that you can take a break after this wonderful but hectic period.
We are beginning to develop ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø’s activities for May 28 and 29, and updates will be posted on the ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø Commencement webpage. Information about Commencement week for the class of 2022 will be provided in the spring as usual. I look forward to our celebrations!
Best,
Doug
