David Wu is a postdoctoral fellow at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and works with Professor David Yang, a CID Faculty Affiliate. He is a development economist working at the intersection of labor economics and political economy. His current projects include labor market frictions faced by firms in the urban contexts of developing countries, the cultural influence of international firms on local workers, and conflicts in sub-Saharan African countries.
David obtained his PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. He will join Georgia State University as an assistant professor in economics in August 2025.
