Jonathan Seiden is a doctoral student in Education Policy and Program Evaluation at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. His research interests include the quantitative measurement of early childhood development and how assessments are used to inform policy and understand interventions that help children reach their developmental potential. In addition to his graduate studies, he serves as a research assistant on the Caregiver Reported Early Development Instruments project at HGSE as well as on the statistics team of the World Health Organization's Global Scales for Early Development (GSED) measure. Jonathan also works on other ECD-related measures such as the World Bank's Anchor Items for the Measurement of Early Childhood Development (AIM-ECD) and the Teach ECE quality observation tool and Save the Children's International Development and Early Learning Assessment (IDELA). Prior to beginning his PhD, Jonathan worked at Save the Children US as a senior specialist for education research where he served as the principal investigator on numerous impact evaluations of early childhood and basic education interventions. He received his BA in international relations from the College of William & Mary, and his MEd in international education policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
