Social Equity and Health Equity (SEHE) stipend funding is available to support Harvard PhD students in the social sciences writing dissertations related to social equity or health equity. Three students will be selected to receive a $5,000 stipend.
Eligibility
Harvard-affiliated PhD students in the social sciences working on social equity or health equity dissertation topics who are currently writing their dissertations, or who expect to be writing their dissertations when their SEHE application is approved, are eligible to apply for these grants. The SEHE funds are available as a supplement to GSAS funding, specifically to support dissertation writing.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit a summary of their intended or ongoing dissertation project (no more than two pages, single spaced), along with a detailed budget of any research expenses (no more than one page, single spaced), and a CV. Please combine these items into a single PDF for your submission and send them to ilara@hks.harvard.edu.
Deadline
The deadline for all submissions is January 15, 2025.
Notes
SEHE program funding does not preclude funding from the Malcolm Wiener Center’s Stone Research Grants or Stone PhD Scholar fellowship (or vice versa). These three programs serve different purposes, and the timing in your graduate career during which they will be appropriate differs.
