Each year, this seminar addresses a new and emerging issue in cybersecurity policy. This semester, the topic will be election security, defined as the security of the election process – registering voters, confirming voter eligibility, the process of voting, aggregating votes into totals, and announcing the voting results. (Note: misinformation is not included as a topic in this seminar.) The course will feature guest speakers from government, industry, and academia. Topics will include past and present tactics, security issues that will arise in the future, and what regulatory, legislative, judicial, and market solutions can address them.
