Program Overview
The Emerging Leaders program at Harvard Kennedy School is designed to develop and enhance the capabilities of tomorrow's leaders. This on-campus program, led by Faculty Chair Mathias Risse, brings together renowned Harvard faculty and an international cohort of rising professionals. Over an intensive week of learning, participants will gain essential leadership skills and strategic insights to capitalize on opportunities, overcome obstacles, and drive change.
PROGRAM CURRICULUM
The Emerging Leaders curriculum is structured into three key areas: skill building, integrated communications, and policy analysis. Participants will engage in interactive simulations, case studies, and group discussions. Key topics include negotiation, persuasion, coalition building, ethics, leveraging internet technologies, and non-military global crisis management. The program also features lectures on global economic development, political power in the digital age, and infrastructure of modern governance.
An interactive simulation will challenge you and your peers to confront and diagnose a crisis as well as develop cooperative strategies to advance your vision. Case studies, group discussion teams, as well as experiential exercises and selected guest lecturers will contribute to a unique and collaborative learning environment during your week in the classroom on campus.
