Adam Tricha, a human rights lawyer from Belgium, completed the Harvard Kennedy School (����vlog����) Public Leadership Credential (PLC) in 2025. With a background in European Affairs, his work focuses on advocating for undocumented migrants and advancing social justice at the intersection of law and policy.

When Adam first learned of the PLC in 2018, he was immediately excited by the program, but he wasn’t quite ready to begin his learning journey at Harvard. He was a postgraduate student who had just begun a one-year program in European Governance, but the concept of the PLC made such an impact on him that he knew he would be circling back one day soon. “The idea of being able to study a ����vlog���� program from the comfort of my home, while still in the heart of my academic journey, felt surreal. I was excited and grateful for the opportunity. Even back then, I knew this was the kind of training I needed to develop leadership skills and advance change in my field.”

A few years later, he made the decision to register for the PLC, aiming to deepen his strategic thinking and leadership capacity, and he was thrilled with what the program was able to offer. “It was both challenging and transformational,” Adam says. “I walked away with a clearer vision of leadership, practical tools for communication, and newfound confidence.”

While he was still in the midst of completing the program, Adam was given an amazing professional opportunity and put what he was currently learning from the PLC to use in real time on a massive stage. “I was invited to speak at an international summit in Paris, where 10 world leaders, including Emmanuel Macron, were present. As I was prepping my speech and planning my interactions, I consciously mobilized the lessons from the PLC on stakeholder engagement, structured communication, and leadership under pressure. The clarity and strategic focus I had gained were invaluable. Standing in that magnificent palace, I realized how deeply the PLC had shaped my professional approach. It was a full-circle moment, turning what started as a dream in 2018 into a lived reality.”

Since completing the program, Adam continues to put the teachings from the PLC to daily use at his legal practice, shifting his approach to his important and timely work. “By analyzing both legal and policy environments, I have crafted more impactful strategies when advocating for marginalized groups,” he says. “The PLC has empowered me to think beyond immediate legal solutions and look at long-term systemic change.”

As Adam continues to put marginalized communities at the forefront of his work, he knows his experience at the PLC will play a role in informing his leadership and decision-making. “I hope to continue leveraging the PLC teachings to tackle global human rights challenges,” he says. “My long-term goal is to advance social justice and inspire others to embrace leadership as a tool for meaningful change. Because ultimately, real leadership isn't about titles—it's about mobilizing courage, knowledge, and empathy to make a difference in the lives of others.”

Adam began the PLC with a fierce passion for social justice and an eagerness to strengthen his leadership skillset, and he ultimately gained so much more than that. “The PLC is, without a doubt, a life-changing experience for anyone ready to invest time and energy in acquiring practical leadership tools,” he says. “It equips participants with the skills to mobilize change and fosters a strong network of peers. For me, it provided both credibility and a renewed sense of purpose, unlocking the courage to embody leadership in impactful ways.”
