Event Description: As tech companies continue to amass power and influence governments, the rule of law itself is in question. Join Shoshana Zuboff (moderator), Alan Butler, Rohit Chopra, Caitriona Fitzgerald, and Jonathan Kantor as they look at the current high-stakes clash between the competing institutional orders of surveillance capitalism and democracy – most notably seen in the destructive forces of Elon Musk and DOGE. The panelists will engage with the legal, regulatory, and institutional challenges posed by these dynamics and consider whether strategic litigation and other legal innovations can provide viable pathways for democratic restoration and resistance to institutional degradation in the United States.
This event is only open to HUID holders. Preregistration for this event is required. Please note that registration does not guarantee admission -- we will seat attendees on a first come first served basis.
