Abstract
The author offers insights on a sustainable development agenda launched by the United Nations to call on global policy makers to prioritize a pro-poor pathway to universal health coverage as an essential pillar of development. He discusses the report "Global Health 2035" released by the Lancet Commission on Investing in Health, and the interest of the global society in investing in health to transform lives and livelihoods.
