In this article the author discusses his view that in the United States there is not only a crisis of leadership but a crisis of confidence. The author makes the observation that unlike at the time of the country's founding great leaders are a rarity. The author opines that the leaders of 2009 have come to understand that unlike times past, their followers are more empowered to play a role in governance and make their voices heard.
