This year, GEM25: Catalyzing AI for Inclusive Change, will delve into artificial intelligence (AI) advancements and their real-world applications across development sectors. From economic growth and governance to healthcare and education, experts will examine how AI is reshaping the future and what it means for emerging economies.

All Road to GEM events are open to the public, inviting a diverse audience to engage in meaningful discussions about the future of international development, innovation, and economic empowerment.

Broadening Perspectives on AI and Data Governance in Africa

Dr. Chinasa T. Okolo (Fellow in the Center for Technology Innovation within the Governance Studies program at The Brookings Institution) explored the challenges and opportunities of AI in Africa, highlighting the continent's growing AI landscape.

Digital Government at War 

Professor Gulsanna Mamediieva, Former Director General at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, outlined Ukraine's rapid digital transformation agenda, highlighting the significant role of the "Diia" app in revolutionizing digital government services amidst covid and the war.

Road to GEM25 Student Seminar: AI in International Development

Facilitated by: CID Faculty Affiliate

The "AI in International Development" seminar offers participants critical insights into how AI is transforming key sectors like poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, and crisis response, influencing global policy and development strategies.
